Spitfire Mk. IXc late Profipack 1:48 Eduard - Model review

Image
Although I build models mainly in 1:72 scale, I have a few iconic planes also in a larger scale. I believe that the Spitfire was the most beautiful WWII fighter, so it must be in my collection. However, I had to be patient, because almost all Eduard's kits disappeared from the market for some time, both in 1:48 and 1:72 scale. Fortunately, after release of early versions of the Spitfier, Eduard is gradually resuming older sets with this iconic British fighter. So far, in 1:48 scale, but for fans of 1:72 something interesting will also appear soon.

PZL 23 Karaś II Polish Light Bomber 1:72 IBG - Model review

Image
I have posted review of PZL P37B Łoś and PZL P.11a so this is time for another polish plane from interwar years. Polish light bomber PZL 23 Karaś II. Box contains two bigger sprues with fuselage and wings and a plenty of small sprues with parts right for partiuclar version of plane. As for a model that is arleady a few years old (most of the sprues were designed in 2017) it looks very nice.

September Sky 1939, PZL 37B II Łoś i PZL P.11a 1:72 & PZL 37B II Łoś 1:72 IBG Models - Model review

For many modellers from Poland polish aviation constructions of the interwar period are iconic. It should not be suprising that we are proud of talent and abilites of our constructors. After all they were able to create planes that were the best in the world. It was not easy in the realities of Second Polish Republic. To the joy many polish modelers, IBG Models decided to treat us with several Polish constructions from that period, including PZL P.11a and PZL 37B described today.

Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate 1:72 Expert Set Arma Hobby - Model review

Image
Few days ago Arma Hobby released brand new kit with Ki-84 Hayate in 1:72 scale. Fortunately, one hit my desk.      As you can see, kit is packed in typical for Arma Hobby box. What's new is the author of boxart. This time it's painted by Shigeo Koike, known from Hasegawa boxarts. Modellers, especially from Asia, will apreciate it, but I miss boxart in good Arma Hobby style.

Mezek (Avia S-199) Dual Combo 1:72 - Eduard - Model review

Image
For over more than year Eduard has focused on 1:48 scale. This resulted in lack of many kits in 1:72 scale kits released by this Chech manufacturer. Fortunatelly in recent months Eduard has released reeditions of some kits in smaller scale. The culmination of this action is brand new limited edition Avia  S-199 kit. In Czech Republic plane was named Mezek what does Mule means. Box is full of plastic. There is doubled sprue A with clear parts. One sprue that contains fuselage with erla canopy (E). One sprue that contains fuselage with bubble canopy (F). Doubled sprue with small parts (C). And doubled sprue with wings (D). Parts are well designed. Fuselage and wings are well molded with thin panel lines and sharp details. Moreover the entire plane is rivetted and it looks fantastic! On the inner side of wings there is molded internal structure of flaps which are connected to the oil cooler. So it can be built in open or closed option. Some parts of interior are molded on the inner side o
